Garlic has been celebrated throughout the world and history for its medicinal and health benefits.

The garlic family-tree includes onions, leeks, chives and shallots.

Consuming garlic raw has maximum benefit but has social side-effects.  Not everyone can handle the taste and digestion of raw garlic.  Therefore odourless supplements are recommended for greatest results.

Cooking adds great flavour to any dish but many of the over 2000 biologically active compounds are lost.  So again, odourless supplements are recommended.

When garlic cloves are crushed or damaged the characteristic odour is released.  This odour is the evidence of a compound called Allicin.  Allicin is created when alliin (a sulphur compound) and alliinase (an enzyme) are combined, these were separated in the cell prior to damage.  Allicin is the medicinally active component we find beneficial.  So for an odourless supplement to be produced, careful preparation and extraction procedures are applied to ensure potency.

Research and clinical studies have proven that the numerous sulphur and active compounds in garlic are multi beneficial and can be helpful with the following:  (in no particular order)

  • Bioactively anti-microbial for fighting off bacteria, viruses, fungi and yeast
  • Colds have been reduced up to 64% in study groups with symptom durations reduced 70%
  • Studies in England have shown Allicin effective in the fight against the 2 ‘superbugs’ MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, 30 known strains) and Acinetobacter Baumanii (common among soldiers).  These deadly ‘bugs’ are continually changing their structures and resistance to pharmaceutical antibiotics
